Public housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Public housing comes in all sizes and types, from scattered single family houses to high rise apartments for elderly families. There are approximately 1.2 million households living in public housing units, managed by some 3,300 HAs.
Under the Public Housing Program, the Woodridge Housing Authority operates 40 units ranging from 1-5 bedrooms. In order to be considered for a unit at the Woodridge Housing Authority, a household must submit a pre-application for housing assistance . Once a household has submitted an application, they can be prequalified and placed on the waiting list. An application can be submitted in person, by fax, or by email. An application can be downloaded by selecting the button on this page.
